On May 15, 2021, a delegation of 12 members from the Qingdao Lawyers Association, including Vice President Zhou Haiyan, Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Dongxia, leaders from the Rights Protection and Political Participation Committee (Lawyers Li Qiuhang, Duan Chao, Shang Suyu, Ma Guoqing, and Zhang Xiaofei), and leaders from the Women Lawyers Committee (Lawyers Zhang Li, Lin Mengting, Ge Yan, Yang Li, and Guo Rujin), visited our firm for an exchange.
Vice President Zhou Haiyan stated that the purpose of the visit was to learn from our firm's excellent management practices, explore specialized development models, and apply these insights to the current state of the legal industry in Qingdao, bringing back valuable experiences to enhance the local legal profession.
During the exchange meeting, Lawyer Gu Liping from our firm openly shared insights on the firm's development, positioning, case handling, and research models.
Lawyer Gu pointed out that to pursue specialization, the firm has declined long-term legal advisory services, dedicating more resources to researching and resolving shareholder disputes. He showcased the firm's intellectual achievements in this field—multiple published works totaling over four million words.
The visiting lawyers acknowledged our firm's commitment to professionalism and excellence but raised a constructive question: Does focusing solely on shareholder disputes affect the firm's revenue and case sources? This is a common concern in the legal industry.
In response, Lawyer Gu emphasized that only by adhering to specialization can the firm handle cases with higher payment capabilities and larger case values. "Good wine needs no bush"—the firm's years of research in shareholder disputes serve as the best "advertisement" to attract clients, ensuring a steady stream of revenue and cases.
Through the exchange, the Qingdao Lawyers Association highly commended our firm's refined and professional approach and offered suggestions for future development, such as enhancing promotion through internet platforms.
Both sides also engaged in in-depth discussions on team size management and control, agreeing to strengthen communication and integration to further advance the development of the legal industry in both regions.
