Equity Course 2019: Shareholder Dispute Litigation and Negotiation Training Launched in Shanghai

On October 25, 2019, S&G Shareholder Dispute Litigation and Negotiation Strategy Training Course is launched in Grand Gateway 66, Shanghai, with over 30 lawyers, entrepreneurs and legal affairs participating in it. Song Haijia, the founder of Song & Gu, gives a speech and partner Gu Liping, consultant in this course, roleplays different parties in the three-days' course.

Professor Ding Shaokuan, President of the Law School of East China University of Political Science and Law, gives the firm a piece of calligraphy as a gift: ‘Professionalism ensures quality, devotion is a way to excellence’. This is not only a form of recognition and encouragement but also spurs us.

The course started with a round of applause. Song shared the highlight idea of ‘the “4+1” Model of Corporate Lawyer’ and analysed the difficulties of handling shareholder disputes. After a short tea break, Gu explained situations of short selling a company and introduced countermeasures to prevent such risks.

In the following courses, students were divided into eight groups, two of which are parties and six of which are lawyers. Using real case materials from S&G, the partners teach students on how to analyse a complex case from the very beginning and how to efficiently negotiate with other parties.

The first day of the course ended with a lively discussion among the students. Although there was a little more coolness in Shanghai in late autumn, it could not resist the enthusiasm of the students to continue to discuss with Mr Song after class.
